Balanced, Symmetric, Non Symmetric

Artist Statement: This week we did Balanced, Symmetric, and Non Symmetric. Balanced is when the halves of the image are proportionally balanced, but not necessarily the same.  Symmetrical is when both halves of the frame can be reflected upon each other. Non Symmetric is when the sides of the frames are different from one another. This week I tried to not use mirroring for symmetry. Therefore I ended up with 3 mirrored, and 3 non mirrored. My goal this time was to use big objects and patterns, but I will try a smaller scale next week.

  1. Hey Brannan, I love how you bumped up the contrast in some photos. Overall your photos are great

  2. Brannan, I thought that your composition of photos came together because of how you used your environment to your advantage. Going outside of the school's neighborhood has allowed you to capture amazing images. I also really appreciate how you went above and beyond to get more than fives photos. You did an excellent job this week.

  3. This week I liked your editing. The asymmetrical photos you took were very cool. A lot of your photos were outside of our neighborhood, and I thought that was really cool.

  4. Hi Brannan, I thought it was cool that you didn't take photos simply for demonstrating the concepts but that you also made them beautiful and creative. I thought that your photo of the reflection of the water in symmetry and your skyline photo in asymmetry were especially clever.

  5. Hi Brannan! These photos are really great! They are really cool to look at. I love the balance images here, they are in objects I would not normally think of taking picture of. Great work!

  6. Hi Brannan, I think your photos are really strong. They all mask what the compositions asked for. Your photos are great and so is the editing!
