Rule of thirds

I used the sidewalks lines and where the buildings meet to show the vertical thirds lines.
The tops of the trees and the middle shading of the road include the horizontal thirds lines. I chose to put this one in black and white because I thought it would draw attentions to the lines instead of the very bright sky.

I showed the rule of thirds in this picture by using Jackson and the line where the sidewalk and street meets to cut the frame into 3rds horizontally.

I used the lines of the building for thirds, and the subject on the left intersects one of the vertical thirds line.

I used the rule of thirds in this photo by lighting up the street post and the store lines to cut the frame into vertical thirds.

Jackson and Kevin are placed in the frame so that they are the vertical thirds lines. I went for a more warm and hazy feel for a more vintage look.

Triangles

I used the triangle in the W for this photo.
The letters EW are just funny to me.

I used this slice of light to make a triangle shape. I chose black and white to eventuate the contrast between the shadow and light.
I used the lines of this corner piece to cut the frame into a triangle. Black and white was chosen to better show the lines.
This photo uses the house with a triangle in it. I chose to keep everything else that wasn't near the triangle to make the photo more interesting.
I used a triangle in this photo to compliment the visually loud red door.

Diagonal

Although jagged, the line where the building meets the sky cuts the frame in half through a diagonal line.
I used the stair wall to cut a large diagonal line across the entire frame.
I tilted the camera in this photo to make the lines of the building diagonal.
The lines of this building were already diagonal and provide an interesting background for the lamp.
I used the roofs of the buildings to create a diagonal line in this photo. It separates the ground from the sky. Diagonal lines are also seen in the triangle roofs of the houses.

  1. Great job this week, I really like the shadows you incorporated and the photos you had of the man cleaning the window. It was very creative and unique. Great work!

  2. I really like the different angles on the objects that people would normally not give thought to, very cool, keep up the great work!

  3. I really like how you didn't just whip out the camera and take a regular picture, but you titled the camera and took advantage of the different ways you could angle it. I also really like how you edited some, and I like how not all the pictures were colorful, some dull, some luminous.
